Five new projects will help South London’s creative and tech talent thrive in 2022
Stride is pleased to announce five new projects for 2022, designed to help emerging talent from South London to develop the critical skills needed to launch creative and tech careers.
As we kick off a new year, Stride is pleased to announce five new Talent Development programmes for 2022 designed to help South Londoners develop critical skills in creative and digital industries. After the success of last year’s programmes, Stride once again awarded grants to projects that engaged people from Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Wandsworth with exciting training and career opportunities. All the Talent Development programmes provide creative pathways into careers ranging from architecture, design, film-making, advertising, web development, gaming, music and technology.

Iconic Steps & Creative Sparkworks: Step Into Work
Step into Work will provide training and career opportunities in film-making for 70 talented young people. If you take part you will get hands-on filmmaking, camera, audio, lighting, editing and screen-writing training. You will also get hands-on training with industry professionals, help to identify and secure paid work opportunities in film and TV, and the opportunity to widen your network base and build a peer-to-peer support system to help build your personal and professional resilience.
Spiral Skills: Fastrackers
Fastrackers has been designed and developed in collaboration with Sumo Digital, one of the UK’s largest game development studios, as well as Game Assembly, a prestigious games educational provider in Sweden and BPP and the University of Sunderland, a national remote apprenticeship provider based in the UK. This project will ensure that these fantastic gaming apprenticeship opportunities are brought to underrepresented communities in South London.
Shapeways: Decode my Future
A free 12-week web-development programme aimed at bringing participants up to the industry level, so that they are able to work in their chosen creative and digital role. Not only will they gain fundamental training in web design, but thanks to local partners, participants will also be provided with mentorship and career development opportunities including paid work experience.
World Heart Beat Music Academy: EMERGE
EMERGE is all about inspiring and empowering up-and-coming South London talent to succeed in the music industry and discover and realise their passions. Through cultivating new connections and career pathways, EMERGE wants to ensure that the vital experiences, knowledge and imaginations of Black, culturally diverse and female talent are placed front and centre in the future of the music industries.
LDN Apprenticeships & Refugee Force: Launch London
LAUNCH London is a comprehensive technical and professional training for asylum seekers to learn Salesforce – the world’s #1 customer relationship management (CRM) and cloud-computing platform – and launch their careers as Salesforce Administrators, Business Analysts, Consultants, and Developers. Alongside technical training, Career Kickstarter will provide professional performance training covering a broad range of topics including CV writing, Communication Skills, Building a Winning LinkedIn Profile and many more. By the end of this course, participants will understand the basics of the Salesforce platform, application development, system administration, data management, and system architecture.
